Title:  Director of Administration and Human Resources

Position:  32 hours per week, at will employee

Accountability:  Senior Pastor

 

Ministry Description:  The Director of Administration and Human Resources will provide assistance, leadership and administrative support in operations, in planning and in programs that support the church’s vision, assisting the senior pastor with human resources.  This person will report to the senior pastor and the governing board of the church.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the church.  In cooperation with the senior pastor assists and gives leadership in planning and programs which support the church’s vision.
  2. Has a detailed understanding of the business policies and practices of the church and often works with highly confidential information or conflict situations.
  3. Responsible for managing the business affairs of the church in the following areas:
    1. Prepares and recommends current and anticipated expenditures for material and office equipment to Council.
    2. Human resources management and support.  This includes preparing and recommending policies and procedures and a leadership role in hiring, orientation and evaluation of support staff.
  4. Responsible for the daily management of the church office for effective and efficient operations, including support for the ministry staff.
  5. Supervises and is involved in the evaluation of office staff and/or volunteers.
  6. Works with the facilities coordinator to schedule and coordinate the use of the building in compliance with established policies and guidelines; and oversees the master calendar.
  7. Coordinates special events and projects, drafts correspondence.
  8. Oversees the purchase, use and repair of office equipment.  
  9. Assists Council in preparing of agendas and minutes.
  10. Works with the Facilities Chairman and building committee on building needs and expansion.
  11. Member of the Personal Protection Team.
  12. Any other work assigned by the Pastor or Council.
